Album Back-Story
More Precious Than Gold was our first album, professionally recorded in 1982 at Pinebrook Studio in Alexandria, Indiana. It was produced by Steve Millikan, a very gifted musician who also played keyboards and arranged the instruments and vocals for the pieces. Sound engineer: Steve Archer; bass guitar: Steve Dokken; percussion: Steve Hanna; electric and acoustic guitars: Jim Hronchek; trumpet: Gregory Tryling; English horn, saxophone and clarinet: Greg Imboden; background vocals Shelly Harris, Julie Makers, Craig Patty, Chandra Hronchek, Steve Millikan and members of New Covenant Fellowship. The synthesizer was a Pro One, an early monophonic synthesizer, and was played by Jim H, Steve M and Charles Woodrick. Each song from the album was based on The Lords Prayer, exploring its depths of meaning. All of the song lyrics were meticulously based on scripture from the King James Bible.

He Is!
And lead us not into temptation …
He Is! was a little bit edgy for the time. For it, we obtained a Pro One 37-Key monophonic Synthesizer, one of the earliest keyboard synthesizers for home use, and just newly on the market. Today, on the antiques market, old Pro Ones are selling for up to eight times what we paid for it. The Pro One had no presets, no digital readouts, and no easy way to retrieve a sound, but to just make a drawing of where the dials pointed and try to get as close as you could.
Usually, when you are recording, it is the rhythm track that is the first to be done, but in our case, it was the Pro One because of the special part that it played.
He Is! is all about God’s character. He gives good gifts, not bad ones. He warns us about temptation in His Word. Whatever quality you can think of that is good is part of the character of our Father. (James 1:13,17)
